It’s not exactly a secret that Texas gets hot. When the thermometer starts to flirt with the triple digits, all you can think about is how to stay cool. And while staying home for the fifth day in a row might sound nice, your child has too much energy for all of that. This is where a splash pad is going to be your best friend! As a Houston family photographer, I love getting to explore this city and uncover all the best hidden gems. Grab your swimsuit and some snacks as you explore these splash pads in Houston!
Beat The Texas Heat With The Family at These Great Splash Pads In Houston
Bear Branch Park

5200 Research Forest Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381
Bear Branch Park is a newly renovated play area which includes a splash pad with a woodland creature theme, a zero-entry pool with a whale slide, and a large playground. While the pool does require a membership available for purchase, the splash pad is free to the public on days when the pool is closed for the season or for maintenance. You can find more about their seasonal schedules here.
Bridgestone MUD Park

19720 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, Texas 77379
Bridgestone MUD Park was designed as a space to help families get back in touch with nature. Their splash pad is located right alongside the playground, ensuring your Houston child never runs out of things to do! They can run across the fountains before drying off in the green area.
Levy Park

3801 Eastside St, Houston, Texas 77089
Over at Levy Park, your child can head over to the Rain Garden any time you need to beat the heat! This Houston area has several towering splash pad fountains where your child can weave in and out of the water. You will also be right next to the playground, making this the ideal place to navigate entertaining siblings.
RiverPark

5875 Summit Creek, Sugar Land, Texas 77479
If you are looking for a great spot without huge crowds, you might love RiverPark! This neighborhood park has a freestanding splash pad where your child can cool off. They feature dumping buckets, misting rainbows, and water fountains. Just a heads up, this spot does NOT have public restrooms, so plan accordingly!

1715-1739 Roman Forest Blvd, Roman Forest, TX 77357
Roman Forest Park has their very own Houston splash pad where your child can have the best morning ever! This area features a few water fountains as well as small dumping buckets. The soft rubber padding on the surface will prevent slips, while the surrounding concrete will give you a spot to stay dry.
Gateway Fountain In Discovery Green

1500 McKinney St, Houston, Texas 77010
While I think Discovery Green should be a top destination all year long, this is one of the best spots to be once summer rolls around. Their Gateway Fountain is open every day throughout the warmer season, offering jets that shoot up to 14 feet high.
